Kinesio Tape

So you have seen it everywhere in the sporting world. But did you know that you don't need to be a sportsperson to find Kinesio or K-tape for short beneficial? Not a lot of people realise that.

It’s NOT just the sportsperson who will find K-tape useful.

Background

K-tape was invented by Dr Kenzo Kase way back in the 1970's as a means of assisting the healing of traumatised muscle and tissue. He found traditional taping and strapping to be restrictive to movement and sometimes inhibited healing itself.

So he busied himself and through research came up with the now funky coloured tapes that you see all around you.

We love K-tape here at Straight Back Physio, and think it does a great job in reducing pain, while allowing people to feel supported but still able to move freely while healing.

Remember this tape is not designed to prevent excessive movement. It allows you to move and heal.

We think its great at helping to relieve the pain of:

  • Tennis Elbow
  • Knee Pain
  • Low Back Pain
  • Muscle Strains

To name but a few conditions that K-tape is useful for.

People always ask about the different colours of tape-they are all the same strength and stickiness. It’s only the colour or design on them that differs.

Oh, and the tapes are not impregnated with anything to help in your pain relief.

Contact us today, and see how Physiotherapy and K-tape can help in your pain relief and rehabilitation.
