Stuart Fossella

Stuart has more than 10 years experience as a Physiotherapist. He qualified with a degree in Physiotherapy from Brunel University, and became a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in 2005.

Before this, he completed a degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences at Portsmouth University in 1999.

His first role as a Physiotherapist was within the Gloucestershire NHS foundation Trust in 2006, where he began specialising in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Outpatient Physiotherapy.

In 2009 he took the chance to further his professional skills by working in private practice in Queenstown, New Zealand. This opportunity gave exposure to working with professional skiers and snowboarders as the Winter Games came to town.

He returned to Cheltenham in 2010 and has now been able to establish Straight Back Physiotherapy, with his now wife Sarah. As they believe everyone should be able to access an excellent and professional Physiotherapy service that is affordable.

Stuart is a keen sportsman enjoying running, football and snowboarding-helping him to diagnose and treat the ‘weekend warrior', and the professional athlete.

Stuart has links with Wales U18 Hockey and provides pitch side Physio for Cheltenham College 1st XV.

Alongside his role at Straight Back Physiotherapy, he continues part-time roles locally including providing in house Physiotherapy at Cheltenham College.

Always keen to further his clinical skills, recently undertaken courses include-

  • Running Biomechanical analysis & Gait retraining
  • Weightlifting workshop with UKSCA
  • Running Repairs
